Kevin Durant & Steph Curry Combine for 74 Points as Warriors Squeak Out Game 1 Win

It’s hard to believe that the biggest story after Game 1 of the NBA Western Conference Finals was an injury rather than the terrific play of two great players.

While the Kawhi Leonard injury certainly deserves some ink, the play from Kevin Durant and Steph Curry down the stretch as the Golden State Warriors outscored the San Antonio Spurs 32-21 in the fourth quarter was a bit more noteworthy.

Kevin Durant & Stephen Curry combine for 74, the most a duo’s had in a Conference Finals game since Charles Barkley & Dan Majerle went for 77 in 1993!

That’s right, 74 of the Warriors’ 113 points in Game 1 came from the two marquee guys out on the floor.

And now that their postseason record stands at 9-0, it’s hard to see a Spurs team without Leonard even mounting much of a threat as this series progresses.
