Warriors Coach Mike Brown Nearly Got Arrested For Following Spurs' Bus Into Oracle Arena

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is still dealing with an ailment that has caused him to miss most of the 2017 NBA playoffs, which means assistant coach Mike Brown continues to be at the helm in Kerr’s absence.

Prior to Game 2 of the Warriors’ Western Conference finals showdown with the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night, Brown had an incident with police at Golden State’s Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Brown apparently attempted to follow the Spurs’ bus into the arena as they both arrived seconds apart, and didn’t initially follow orders to pull over to the side when directed to by an officer.

Brown spoke to reporters about the hilarious incident, which you can check out in the video below.

From theScore:

”So I literally start to go and I’m going to get in the far left lane to go through where we all go through, and a cop out of nowhere pulls in front of me and goes, ‘Hey you, stop!'” Brown said.

“So I’m like feeling myself a little bit. I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m being bullied by Oakland PD or San Francisco PD in my own building, my own parking lot.’

So I start to go a little bit and another one pulls up: ‘Hey, you, you heard him, stop!’

Brown is close friends with Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, who saw it all unravel from the bus.

“Someone has to teach him, if the California Highway Patrol tell you to move over, you move over. He didn’t do that,” Popovich joked.

Brown had the last laugh, however, as the Warriors made mincemeat out of the Kawhi Leonard-less Spurs, winning 136-100 to take a 2-0 lead as the series shifts to San Antonio for Game 3 on Saturday.
