Los Angeles Clippers Establishing Own Identity with New Arena, Jerry West Addition

By Anthony Blake

For years, the Los Angeles Clippers have been considered the second-best NBA team playing in Staples Center.

But the redheaded stepchild to the Los Angeles Lakers is branching out to form its own identity, with the announcement of a new arena accompanying the news that the great Jerry West would leave the Golden State Warriors to join the Clips’ organization as well.

And it will be a whole new challenge for West.

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer no doubt played a huge role in making these transformations possible, as his influx of capital into the organization has been vital to rebuilding the team’s image.

And now, West will be a key part in crafting a winning franchise once they relocate to Inglewood.
