Lonzo Ball Leads Lakers To Win With Electrifying Performance Against Sixers In Summer League

By Timothy Downs

While many sports fans were glued to the 2017 ESPY Awards on Wednesday night, Lonzo Ball and the Los Angeles Lakers quietly took on the Philadelphia 76ers in a surprisingly exciting NBA Summer League showdown.

After sitting out a game (groin), Ball bounced back with an incredible performance. The 19-year-old point guard tallied 36 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, five steals, and two blocks in a 103-102 win.

NBA Twitter was excited to say the least.

A big deal was made of the fact that Ball — who had worn his signature Big Baller Brand ‘Zo2’ shoe during his first two games — instead went with a pair of purple Kobe’s purportedly to showcase the “Mamba Mentality.”

Perhaps Nike was right — it’s gotta be the shoes!
