Consecutive Wins for the Hawkeyes
With a last minute shot from Bryce Cartwright, Iowa (10-13, 3-8) topped Indiana (12-12,3-8) by one point making it their second consecutive win this week.
Leading the Hawkeyes, freshman Melsahn Basabe had a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. He has scored 20 or more points in five of the last ten conference match-ups. Bryce Cartwright lead in assists with eight.
Although the Hawkeyes trailed by 10 points with 7:47 remaining, they came back with lights out shooting and excellent defense. This win marks Iowa’s second win against Indiana in Bloomington this season, and the first time they have done that since 2004.
For the rest of the game, Iowa outscored the Hoosiers 16-5. However, two Indiana players had a stand-out performances. Jordan Hulls lead with 24 points and Verdell Jones had five rebounds and two assists for the Hoosiers.
The Hawkeyes look to increase their winning-streak on Wednesday night against No. 18 Wisconsin.
