Mike Bruesewitz gets his head shaved for fundraiser

By Sam Zastrow

Mike Bruesewitz’s gained some national notoriety during Wisconsin’s run to the Sweet Sixteen in March. His stellar play during the tournament and his majestic red afro were tough to miss, and even earned him a spot in the annual “One Shining Moment” video montage shown after the National Championship.

However, after briefly sporting cornrows, Bruesewitz went back to the short, shaved hairstyle Wednesday that Badger fans saw last season. And even better, he did it for a good cause.

Bruesewitz asked for donations that would go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society leading up to the shave.Andy Baggot of the Wisconsin State Journal reported Bruesewitz was trying to raise $3,100 (Bruesewitz wears No. 31). According to the UW men’s basketball Twitter feed, that goal was reached last night at approximately 8:30.

Oh, and Jon Leuer did the (shaving) honors.
