Purdue Adds a 2012 Guard

By Riley Schmitt

Purdue was in the news again today as 2012 point guard recruit Ronnie Johnson committed to the Boilers.  Johnson, the young brother of sophomore Purdue guard Terone Johnson, joins Rapheal Davis, Kyle Molock, and Jay Simpson in the class of 2012.  However, Purdue is now oversigned by one for the 2012-2013 season, which will lead to rampant speculation about who is departing the program.

Johnson plays at North Central High School, and is surrounded by fantastic talent, which has tempered his production.  However, Johnson projects out to be a bigger, better shooting version of Lewis Jackson at this time, with potential to develop into a point guard like Mike Conley Jr., according to Dan Dakich.  Johnson is a big time get for Purdue as Matt Painter continues to create fantastic recruiting classes.
