UConn sophomore Jeremy Lamb is among the best players in the nation.

His athleticism is through the roof, and for anybody who may not have not known that prior to Friday night, now does.

Lamb’s dunk on a Columbia defender was noted as the No. 1 play on the Sportscenter Top 10, and after seeing it, that’s not at all surprising.

Friday night marked the opening night of the 2011-12 season for much of the nation. The date read 11/11/11 and Columbia’s Mark Cisco probably now wishes he let Lamb drive straight to the basket.

On a baseline drive, Lamb elevated while Cisco made a strong defensive effort to try and take a charge.

North Carolina vs. Boston College: The No. 9 Tar Heels were thoroughly tested in their 68-65 win over the Eagles. Justin Jackson led a 2nd-half comeback for Carolina, scoring 13 of his 20 points after the break. Roy Williams left the game in the 2nd half due to vertigo-related dizziness and did not return. Eli Carter scored a game-high 26 points for BC in the loss.
