NBA: Big Ten Players Open Up On The Big Stage
We are a day away from the NBA season opening up and the Big Ten will have some rookies this year in the league trying to make a name for themselves. Unlike years before, the Big Ten had no player picked in the top 5, top 10, or even the top 20.
#27 JuJuan Johnson – New Jersey Nets traded to Boston Celtics
#10 Jon Leuer – Milwaukee Bucks
#11 Darius Morris – LA Lakers
#21 Jon Diebler – Portland Trail Blazers
#25 E’Twaun Moore – Boston Celtics
From West Lafayette to Boston, JuJuan Johnson and E’Twaun Moore will take their Big Ten talents together to the NBA for the Celtics. Living a dream come true, Darius Morris did not only get drafted, but got drafted from his hometown and favorite team growing up in the Lakers. Jon Leuer’s stays home with the in state Milwaukee Bucks, while Jon Diebler will play one season overseas in Greece after being drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers.
“I’m there for the year,” Diebler said. “With the lockout, it put a twist on things. I’m definitely a guy who would benefit from a full (training) camp instead of a shortened one.”
The Charlotte Bobcats picked up Michigan State’s Durrell Summers from the D-League for preseason, we will have to see if he stays put in the NBA. All theses names were the big names last year in Big Ten, but now they are the little fish on their NBA team. Which Big Ten player will make the biggest impact this season for his NBA team?
