Maryland Mows Down Wake Forest To Move On
The Maryland Terrapins came out Thursday and completely destroyed the under achieving Wake Forest Demon Deacon squad. Maryland defeated Wake Forest 82-60 to move on in the ACC Tournament.
Terrell Stoglin led all scorers with 25 points and opened up the second half with nine straight baskets on the 20-4 Maryland run.
Wake Forest finishes another season disappointed as they are 13-18 overall and only getting four wins in conference play under their second year head coach Jeff Bzdelik. The Demon Deacons will miss the Big Dance for the second straight year.
With the win for Maryland, they have the dubious honor of facing the No. 1 seed in the tournament North Carolina. Maryland is the only team to win the ACC title besides Carolina or Duke since 1997 but have let the Tar Heels score over 80 points in both of their games this season.
