Julian Moore: 2013 Forward Verbally Commits to Penn State

Last weekend, Penn State and head coach Patrick Chambers lost verbal commit Brandon Austin, although his decision was unrelated to the recent attention due to the school’s football scandal.

The Nittany Lions remain in the mix for Austin, and fans also have the added reassurance from fellow 2013 commit Geno Thorpe.

Now, reports have surfaced that Penn State is back to two verbal commitments as 6-foot-10 power forward Julian Moore announced his intentions to head to Happy Valley in 2013.

Moore, a Philadelphia-native, currently attends Germantown Academy (PA).

While the football program remains on uncertain grounds, the addition of Moore sheds a positive light for a basketball program that is looking to carve in its own path and stray away from the negativity coming from the school’s recent problems.

Moore continues to improve according to many, as he wrapped up this summer’s AAU circuit with the We-R1 program.

The forward’s decision to verbally pledge to Penn State comes after interest from James Madison, VCU, and Duquesne, among others.
