Apparently Cronin’s comments were directed towards an official as he was not to happy with his team’s 81-66 loss to the in-state rival Buckeyes.
The NCAA said that Cronin had originally appealed the reprimand, but they held up their decision after reviewing records.
While this may seem like just a slap on the wrist, it could become more serious if it happens again. Cronin has received a warning and, although he didn’t get much more than a small child would get for behaving badly, the NCAA might not be so friendly the second time around.
The Bearcats look to be in the thick of the Big East title race, so Cronin’s best bet is to keep his mouth shut and not do anything that could jeopardize his team. He has taken the program to new heights in recent years and they truly need him.
