Ben McLemore: Injured in Foreign Trip
Ben McLemore, a player the Kansas Jayhawks are looking forward to seeing during the 2012-2013 season has been hampered with a groining injury during the foreign trip. McLemore was unable to play last season due to
NCAA qualifications. He was able to practice, and go to school, but not dress for games.
McLemore hurt himself in the final practice for the Jayhawks before departing for Switzerland. In the two games the Jayhawks won on Tuesday and Wednesday, the guard played just 21 total minutes. Coach Self has this to say about his guard, which will eventually bring much needed depth to the lineup: ““He wants to play, he needs this more than maybe anybody on our team, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to get to have it.”
Filling in for McLemore has been Kevin Young, who played limited time for Kansas last season. Young made a huge play on Tuesday to help the Jayhawks come up with a win. Young scored 6 of the final 12 points for Kansas
for the come from behind win.
The Jayhawks have now moved to Paris France, where they will play two games; Saturday and Sunday. Also while in Paris, the Jayhawks are going to get a chance to do some sight seeing. Kansas will stay in Paris through Monday
night, then return to Lawrence in preparation for the 2012-2013 school year to begin.
Kansas is coming off a trip to the national championship game, where they were downed by Kentucky.
