Rumors can certainly be interesting and potential package deals in college basketball can make a good day a great day for one particular fan base.
Landing one impact can recruit is difficult enough, let alone two. Yet, how about three?
Well recently, 2014 guard Chris McCullough told Adam Zagoria on SNY.tv that the option is in place for three budding, New York City stars. In addition to McCullough, who stands at 6-foot-10, Jermaine Lawrence and Isaiah Whitehead may all be interested in joining each other on the next level.
The school that may fit the best: Syracuse.
“We talked about it twice already, me, Jermaine [Lawrence] and Isaiah [Whitehead]. We said it would be a good fit for all three of us,” McCullough told Zagoria.
All three of the aforementioned prospects are members of the class of 2014, and while each of them have Syracuse high on their list, there is a high number of schools chasing the recruits, individually.
Both McCullough and Whitehead are expected to attend Syracuse’s elite camp at the end of August, that also according to SNY.tv‘s Zagoria.
As for the three’s individual accolades, McCullough is listed at No. 19 nationally by ESPN, while the recruiting outlet lists Lawrence at No. 16 and Whitehead at No. 43.
While each of the recruits have plenty of time before they step onto a collegiate campus in 2014, the rumors certainly is interesting. The three were teammates this past weekend at the Big Strick Classic, an event in which team NYC lost 87-86 to team USA.
The storyline is appealing, especially for fans of the Orange, yet it is just among the many options that each McCullough, Lawrence and Whitehead will have in their near future.
