Elliott Pitts: 2013 California-Native Verbally Commits to Arizona

After putting together a monster recruiting class in 2012, Arizona head coach Sean Miller is at it again.

On Sunday, Miller and the Wildcats landed 2013 California-native, Elliott Pitts.

Pitts verbally committed to UA after receiving interest from a number of high-major programs.

At 6-foot-5, Pitts currently attends De La Salle H.S. (CA) and is listed at No. 88 overall by ESPN. Rivals lists the senior-to-be at No. 141 nationally.

Pitts had been considering five schools most recently, each of whom had offered. Pitts chose the Wildcats over the likes of Washington, California, Georgetown, and Virginia.

Pitts is well-known for his offensive weapons, stepping up with the ability to knock down jumpers and convert off penetration to the basket.

As the Wildcats welcome one of the nation’s top incoming classes to town for the 2012-13 season, the addition of Pitts gives Arizona a two-man class looking forward to 2013.

In addition to Pitts, Arizona also holds a verbal pledge from fellow California-native, Eric Cooper Jr.

Pitts spent this past summer running with the Bay Area Hoosiers on the AAU circuit.
