2013 Power Forward Jordan Mickey Has a Top Five

When SMU hired legendary head coach Larry Bown this past off-season, the Mustangs expected an increase in recruitment, especially with their switch to the Big East going into effect in 2013.

Well, SMU continues to be in the hunt for some of the nation’s top recruits, and that is the case for 2013 power forward Jordan Mickey.

Mickey, a 6-foot-8 power forward, has a top five, and in addition to SMU, Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma State and Arkansas also remain in the running.

By way of Grace Preparatory Academy (Texas), Mickey has been highly-recruited throughout his time at the high school level and his top five should serve as an indication of that.

SNY.tv‘s Adam Zagoria tweeted out the news of Mickey’s top five on Tuesday afternoon: [blackbirdpie url=”https://twitter.com/AdamZagoria/status/240544218974670848″]

Mickey recently starred in New York City’s Big Strick Classic, playing with Team USA in their 87-86 victory over Team New York. Mickey had a game-sealing block in the final seconds to defend victory.

A number of high-major programs in addition to those in his top five have followed Mickey throughout his recruitment, but in preparation for his senior season, the forward now appears to be focusing on the aforementioned schools.

Mickey spent the AAU sessions running with Urban DFW, a Dallas-based program.
