On Tuesday, 2014 guard Jared Nickens took an unofficial visit to up north to Syracuse.
Standing at 6-foot-6, Nickens’ recruitment continues to gain steam as his list of offers and interested schools continues to grow.
When asked, Nickens listed scholarship offers from Temple, Penn State, UMass, Iona, Hofstra, Fordham, St. Joseph’s, VCU, Towson, and Richmond. In addition, other schools such as Syracuse, Mississippi State, Drexel, Villanova, and Providence are also expressing interest.
As for his visit to Syracuse, Nickens liked the trip saying, “It went really well, I really enjoyed myself.”
“We just walked around, checked out the apartments and toured the Melo Center, which was great to see,” Nickens explained via text.
Nickens currently attends the Westtown School, located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. During the off-season AAU sessions, Nickens runs with the Sports U program, fresh off this past summer circuit where Nickens continued to showcase his true, overall talents.
Originally, Nickens attend St. Patrick’s (NJ), but he recently made the move to reclassify to 2014, landing at the Westtown School. Nickens has played his way onto the radar of many college coaches on the east coast and with two seasons remaining at the high school level, increase in his recruitment is sure to continue.
Following his visit to Syracuse, Nickens said that he does not have any additional trips planned for the time being, yet that could change as the fall months approach.
