Lorenzo Brown Will be Key to North Carolina State's Success

By Trevor Lowry

The North Carolina State Wolfpack really have a chance to be something special this season and it all starts with Lorenzo Brown.

Brown was one of the best point guards in the ACC last season averaging 12.7 points per game and 6.3 assists per game. However, he was also a force on the boards, grabbing 4.5 rebounds per game.

He may not have the best jump shot in the world, but it is definitely improving. Brown’s 6’5” stature is a plus and helps him to be a mismatch on most players that defend him. He is a very quick guard with great ball-handling skills.

Just look at what Brown did in last year’s NCAA tournament and you will see how valuable this guy is to his team. Brown averaged 13 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game and 6 assists per game. This is pretty impressive for anyone.

Wolfpack fans can expect this kind of production out of Brown in the 2012-13 college basketball season. The only glaring issue about him is his knee, which has seemed to bug him to the point of having surgery over the off-season.

All seems well now, which means Lorenzo Brown and North Carolina State are poised to take the crown in the ACC this year.
