ACC Basketball: Record Breaking Men’s Basketball Schedule Released

The ACC  is perennially one of the more exciting conferences to watch and follow during the college basketball season. This year more ACC basketball games will be shown on television than ever before, a fact that will surely make NCAA hoops enthusiasts across the country very happy.

The ACC recently released their men’s basketball schedule (courtesy of theACC.com,) which includes 201 national television appearances, which is almost 10 more than last year. ACC schools will also appear on TV, 327 times overall, which beats last years record of 304.

What’s even more exciting is that for the first time ever, according theACC.com, each school from the ACC conference 18 games against ACC opponents, and each of these games will be broadcast live. Fifty of these games will be shown on ESPN, and 3 of these games will be shown on CBS, according to the site.

Numbers aside, this news is certainly a blessing for college basketball fans. This way, a fan in Texas can still keep up with top-tier college basketball from around the country. This television schedule only solidifies the ACC’s place as one of the more powerful conferences in college basketball. With numerous headline stories that everyone is looking forward to unfolding this season during ACC play such as the emergence of young teams like North Carolina State and Maryland, the expanded  television exposure that the conference is getting can only bring positive things to the college hoops community.

I think I speak for ACC fans around the country when I say that I am very much looking forward to this upcoming season, and now that so many of the games will be available to watch live, my excitement has only increased.
