Debby Wong-US Presswire

The Rams of Fordham University announced their upcoming basketball schedule for this season on September 6th, as they are looking to have a stronger 2012-13 season, as last season they finished (10-19, 3-13 A-10). The Rams will open the season, November 9th at Texas State University (WAC). The Bobcats are new to the WAC conference and had a record of 13-17 last season. For an opening regular season game, it will be a tough contest for Fordham.

Then from November 12th-November 23rd, the Rams will be competing in the Preseason NIT. The teams for his early season tournament have not been announced yet. Finally, on November 29th, Fordham will have their home opener against Manhattan College (MAAC) at the Rose Hill Gym.

The Rams have one of toughest non-conference schedules in the month of December. During that month, they will take on Harvard (Ivy), Lehigh (Patriot), St. John’s, Princeton (Ivy), University of Connecticut, Siena (MAAC), Georgia Tech, and then on New Year’s Eve play Monmouth University (Northeast) at the Rose Hill Gym.

Before, they jump into conference play, on January 4th; they will travel down to Oxford, Mississippi to play the University of Mississippi. That game will be tough as the Rebels finished with an overall record of 20-14 and played in the NIT last season.

To start off conference play on January 9th, the Rams will take on Duquesne at home and then four days later will take on UMass in an early season showdown at the Rose Hill Gym.

The Fordham Rams have a very tough non-conference schedule and they will be lucky to finish with a .500 record after all those games but if they can manage to keep their heads above water before conference play. The Rams could be a dangerous team in the Atlantic 10 this upcoming season.
