When Kentucky freshman Anthony Davis stumbled out of bounds in last season’s Sweet 16 victory over Baylor, Big Blue Nation held their breath. Davis was fine, but the scare certainly threw a brief jolt at Wildcats’ fans.

Well, video has surfaced from Kentucky’s Big Blue Madness camp out, and it features Davis’ replacement down low this season.Nerlens Noel, the nation’s No. 1 recruit, took a tumble of his own during a pick up game outside the school’s camp out.

Breathe, Kentucky fans, Noel is fine. So too is the kid that he fell on. In fact, the young fan did a pretty good job stepping in and taking the charge on Noel’s left leg.

As the Wildcats prepare for their quest at back-to-back national titles this season, Noel is the key component despite having yet to play a game. This has consistently become a theme for head coach John Calipari and the ‘Cats, one that paid off considerably well just last March.

The camp out has become a recent tradition for Kentucky fans and Calipari’s players are used to making an appearance and playing a little pick up. As you can tell from the video above, the crowd gathered around the hoop is quite extensive, despite practice still being three weeks away.

After Noel’s botched dunk attempt it will be interesting to see if short games like this will continue, however.

Noel is a native of Everett, Massachusetts and an original member of the class of 2013. Noel reclassified last year and instantly became the nation’s top target. He choose the Wildcats last spring and has since been cleared to play despite some brief academic hurdles this past summer.
