On Tuesday, Dec. 4, the Texas Longhorns will be featured as part of a doubleheader in which they will hook horns with the Georgetown Hoyas. The game begins at 7pm ET and is to be followed by North Carolina State vs. Connecticut.

The Jimmy V Classic began in 1995 to raise money for V Foundation for Cancer Research, which has awarded more than $100 million to fund cancer research grants nationwide. The V Foundation was founded by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, the former head coach at North Carolina State, who fell victim to the disease in 1993.
Over the past ten years, the event has been held at Madison Square Garden.
After a 20-14 season a year ago, the Longhorns were defeated in the Round of 64 last spring. Myck Kabongo returns in the back court for head coach Rick Barnes, while a solid freshmen class highlighted by Cameron Ridley enters the program.
Texas should have a great opportunity to get back into contention atop the Big 12 Conference this year, this after finishing sixth during the regular season in 2011-12.
