Another year of college basketball is quickly approaching and in preparation, Rant Sports’ College Basketball Network Manager Paul Seaver will be breaking down and predicting the outcomes of each conference across the country.

Today, we take a look at the SWAC:

Due to low APR scores, the defending conference champions are ineligible for the postseason which means a new SWAC champion will be crowned in 2013. In addition to their ban, Mississippi Valley State, also lost their head coach Sean Woods who took a similar position at Morehead State this past spring.

Former Indiana and UAB head coach Mike Davis landed the head coaching position at Texas Southern, while Prairie View A&M, Alcorn State, and Jackson State all have the potential to capture this year’s conference title. The league is wide open and while non-conference scheduling always presents an early problem for these ten teams, league play reopens the opportunity and dream of making that one run to the Big Dance.
