Geoff Burke-US PRESSWIRE

Breaking news out of Hempstead, New York: Hofstra University’s head men’s basketball coach Mo Cassara will be hosting the first-ever “Mo Cassara’s Coaches vs. Cancer Sneakers & Stilettos Basket Ball” on Thursday, October 4. The Event will be held at The Allegria Hotel in Long Beach, New York.

The event will essentially be a cocktail party with all proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Cassara clearly has a deep appreciation and respect for the support the Society provides America’s cancer patients. The American Cancer Society’s toll free number provides live cancer specialist assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days among many, many other services daily.

Cassara will host the charity event, but will also have some help from a few friends. Louis D’Agostino, Partner, Senior Vice President at Iron Cove Partners, LLC, A Whitmore Group Limited Company and Doug Mauch, Managing Partner at JJT Energy will chair the event as well.

All in attendance will dress in Cocktail attire when doors open at 7pm. It has also been stated that sneakers and stilettos are preferred.

The Coaches vs Cancer is a national movement dedicated to help aid the American Cancer Society in their efforts against cancer. Events and fundraisers are being held across the country on various high school and college levels, including an early season NCAA basketball tournament in Brooklyn’s new Barclay’s Center.
