Fresh off a 22-win season, the Georgia State Panthers–under the direction of second-year head coach Ron Hunter–are not exactly easing their way into the 2012-13 season. Their season-opener on Nov. 9 will be within the unfriendly confines, that is, Cameron Indoor Stadium as they take on the Duke Blue Devils at 7 p.m. A limited amount of tickets are now available for the game through the GSU Ticket Office.
“Coming off of last year’s success, the fans are excited about the upcoming season,” said Matt Newhouse, Assistant A.D. for Marketing. ”We are already ahead of last year’s season ticket numbers and want to get the word out to our fans so they can experience the up-tempo style that this team is going to bring every night to the Sports Arena.”
The price for the tickets will be between $65 and $75 and will be assigned based on PAC Priority Points. These points are a combination of an individual’s current and cumulative giving to GSU athletics, consecutive year season ticket purchases, varsity letter winner and donor bonuses.
Those who are already men’s Basketball season ticket holders will be given first priority through PAC Priority Points. Ticket requests are due by 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 8. Successful requests will be notified via e-mail by Friday, Oct. 12.
Tickets for the 2012-13 Panthers season can still be purchased to increase the chances of getting tickets to the Duke game. Tickets start at $115 for Mezzanine General Admission and $165 for Lower Bowl Reserved Contact the GSU Ticket Office at 1-866-GA-STATE (427-8283).
The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU at 7 p.m.
