Rant Sports NCAAB Conference Preview: Big West
Another year of college basketball is quickly approaching and in preparation, Rant Sports College Basketball Network Manager Paul Seaver will be breaking down and predicting the outcomes of each conference across the country.
Today, we look at the Big West Conference:
The Big West Conference has belonged to the likes of Long Beach State and UC-Santa Barbara over each of the past three seasons. Orlando Johnson is gone for the Gauchos, which will cause them to dip in the standings, but despite LBSU taking some hits of their own, especially with lead guard Casper Ware, the 49ers may once again be the team to beat in the conference.
Hawaii could finish in the upper half of the league as well, but that depends on the health and return of big man, Vander Joaquim. While LBSU appears as the conference’s early favorite, Cal-State Fullerton with new coach Andy Newman, have the talent level to give the 49ers a run.
Pacific, UC-Irvine, and Cal-State Northbridge will all look to hit a rhythm once conference play begins in their attempts at making at run within the conference.
