It’s certainly that time of year again, the time of year for NCAA Basketball Tip-Off events!
Along with many other CAA basketball teams, the UNCW Seahawks will host their third-annual Season Tip-Off luncheon next week. From 11:30AM-1PM, the Seahawks will honor their 2012-2013 Mens’ and Womens’ Basketball teams with an all-you-can-eat buffet at Buffalo Wild Wings.
During the event, fans will have the opportunity to meet and speak with Mens’ head coach, Buzz Peterson, and new womens’ head coach, Adell Harris. Peterson is entering his third season at the helm of the Seahawks program led his team to 10-21 record last season, but things are looking bigger and brighter for this year’s squad. Both coaches will also share their season expectations with the crowd as well along with a question and answer session.
The event will also be hosted and emceed by Mike Vaccaro, UNCW’s play-by-play voice. Vaccaro has been the Assistant Director of Sports Marketing and the Radio Voice of the Seahawks since 2004.
There are a limited number of $20 tickets available to the public; all proceeds from the ticket sales and the event will benefit the Seahawk Club. The Club’s main mission is to develop the intercollegiate student-athlete’s college experience both academically and competitively. Specifically, their main efforts raise funds to support UNCW’s athletic scholarships.
The Seahawks are returning a few key contributors from last year’s team. But this team will go as far as senior stud, Keith Rendleman, takes them.
