News broke late Wednesday night that both Caleb and Cody Martin had verbally committed to North Carolina State.
Multiple sources confirmed the news via Twitter, that indeed the twin brothers, both of whom are top-50 recruits within the class of 2014 are off the board and headed to Raleigh to play for head coach Mark Gottfried.
Gottfried, who signed a contract extension just last month, has continued to produce on the recruiting trail and his recent additions from the junior class is a high indication of just that.
Both Martin brothers stand at 6-foot-7 and are original natives of Mocksville, North Carolina. The two forwards currently attend Davie County H.S. (NC) and spend their off-seasons running with Team Loaded on the AAU circuit.
The additions of both Cody and Caleb mark the first two commitments from the class of 2014 for the Wolfpack and this comes on the heels of back-to-back stellar classes under Gottfried’s reign. Top prospects Rodney Purvis, Tyler Lewis, and T.J. Warren are on campus this year, while both Anthony Barber and Kyle Washington are committed for next season.
The plethora of top talent that is continuously choosing North Carolina State is a testament to the hard work that Gottfried has put in since taking over the program prior to last season. In fact, following a run to the Sweet 16 this past March, the Wolfpack have Final Four aspirations and ACC supremacy on their mind in 2012-13.
Cody is ranked as No. 42 prospect within the junior class, according to Rivals, while ESPN pins him at No. 35. As for his brother Caleb, he is listed at No. 40 by Rivals and No. 34 by ESPN.
