Tulsa Makes Big Announcements at 2012 Conference USA Media Day

Yesterday, Oct. 9th, was media day for Conference USA basketball. The main highlight coming out of media day in regards to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane was television contracts and live streaming events.

The Golden Hurricane announced that every home basketball game would now stream live on their university website for a small fee.  The user will pay the small fee, and then they will have access for the following season, as well as other sports that are streamed on the Golden Hurricane network.  Just simply log onto the Tulsa basketball website and open the “Hurricane Vision” media player.

The media viewer is similar to a YouTube format in which you can easily select different sports and browse past games, press conferences, and more.

The Golden Hurricane also announced that 5 of their games would be nationally televised.  This is obviously an important source of revenue for a private school such as Tulsa.  The five televised games will be:

“We look forward to playing against quality opponents and giving our program an opportunity to receive national exposure. I look forward to many more games in the future being on television, regionally and nationally,” head coach Danny Manning said about the televised games.

If you are in Tulsa, come out to the nationally televised football game this Thursday against UTEP, kickoff at 7 p.m.  The Tulsa basketball team and coaches will be on the West side of H.A. Chapman Stadium at Thomas Plaza.  Fans will have the opportunity to talk, gather autographs, and even shoot baskets with the team and coaches.
