Next month, the UNC Wilmington Seahawks will host their annual alumni weekend from November 9-11. During the weekend, former and current men’s basketball players, managers and coaches are invited to participate in several activities. Of course, the highlight of the weekend will be none other than the alumni game on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Trask Coliseum.

The game is free and open to the public, tipping off at 6PM, and the main feature of many events during the weekend is just one of many activities planned for alumni who played for the Seahawks.

Players from all over the Seahawk’s history plan to be in attendance, most notably, Jerry Taylor, a member of UNCW’s 1958 graduating class.

The 74-year-old says he’s still in shape and fit enough to take a few runs up and down the court.

The alumni weekend will also feature a free throw and 3-point shooting contest that all alumni will compete in.

Including Taylor, thirty-four Seahawk greats have already committed to attending the weekend festivities. Among the group of attendees are all-time leading scorers, CAA players of the year, assistant coaches and student managers. Members of UNCW graduating classes from 1958-2012, spanning 54 years of Seahawk basketball, will run the same court inside the Coliseum.
