A few days ago the George Washington University Colonials men’s basketball team released their schedule along with times and television appearances. Let’s take a look at what teams GW will be taking on this season.

On November 3rd, the Colonials will have an exhibition game against Catholic University (D-III) before jumping into regular season play versus Youngstown State (Horizon) on the 10th. The Penguins had a pretty solid season with a 16-15 overall record and a 10-8 conference record in the Horizon league.

Then on November 21st, the Colonials will have a test as they will take on Notre Dame at South Bend at 7:00 pm. This game can be seen on ESPN3. To open up the month of December, the Colonials will compete in the BB&T Classic and take on Manhattan (MAAC).

Then GW, will go on a three game stretch between December 4th-11th, where they will take on Bradley, Kansas State, and Rutgers. All these teams will be a challenge as Kansas State and Rutgers both come from power conferences.

Finally to begin 2013 on January 4th, the Colonials will take on the University of Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, GA before beginning conference play five days later at home versus St. Bonaventure.

The Colonials, who finished last season 10-21 and 5-11 in the Atlantic 10 will be looking to improve and have a stronger season. Their schedule is manageable but not easy as once they start conference play they will take on Xavier, UMass, and Temple.

But one thing that they can hold their head about is that they are returning their second leading scorer Lasan Kromah, who averaged 11.1 points per game last season.
