Rant Sports NCAAB Conference Preview: SoCon

Another year of college basketball is quickly approaching and in preparation, Rant Sports College Basketball Network Manager Paul Seaver will be breaking down and predicting the outcomes of each conference across the country.

Today, we look at the Southern Conference:

After winning the SoCon a season ago, a Davidson squad that returns all five starters and won 25 games a season ago, is once again primed for conference supremacy. Forwards Jake Cohen and De’Mon Brooks lead the way for the Wildcats, but it’ll be Andrew Lawrence and the College of Charleston who can be expected to give Davidson a run for their money.

Both squads are representatives of the “South Division” with the conference, so the race will certainly be interesting to follow. UNC-Greensboro and Elon have the potential to make some noise in the “North Division,” but the parody will be much more apparent in comparison to the heavyweights of Davidson and Charleston.

SoCon Predictions:

North Division:

1. UNC-Greensboro

2. Elon

3. Western Carolina

4. Appalachian State

5. Samford

6. UT-Chattanooga
