High school senior Devin Williams is scheduled to officially visit the Memphis Tigers this weekend on Oct. 19.  Williams, a 6-foot-8 power forward, is currently ranked at No. 83 in the 2013 ESPN 100. According to scouts, he can score in the low post and out to 12 feet. He can score some over his left shoulder but is very good at putting the ball on the floor from the mid-post and getting to the basket.

Williams also has scholarship offers from West Virginia Mountaineers, UCLA Bruins, North Carolina State Wolfpack and Ohio State Buckeyes. However, he has narrowed his list to three schools: Memphis, West Virginia and Ohio State.

This season Williams became a member of one of the top basketball programs in the nation, Montverde Academy (FL). He spent the first three years of his high school career at Withrow in Cincinnati , OH. Williams averaged 15.7 points and 10.7 rebounds last season for the Tigers.

Williams knows the transition to Montverde will be different. “I heard he’s (Coach Kevin Boyle) tough, but I need it a little bit,” Williams told MaxPreps.com. “That’s one of the reasons I went down there. I understand he will get me ready for college and develop my game a little bit more. If he’s going to be on my butt, I’m just going to have to take it.”

Memphis already has four commitments for their 2013 class, but each player is wing-oriented. Adding a post player would be a priority. Three of the four seniors on the Tigers current roster are post players.
