Workout routines are more than average for collegiate athletes, but after watching the video below, I have to ask, is there any basketball player out there who does what Patric Young does?
A physical specimen, Young has been known for his strength and low post power since arriving at Florida prior to the start of the 2010-11 season.
The 6-foot-9 forward saw an increase in his statistics last season as a sophomore and after once again returning to Gainesville, more production should be expected. Young averaged 10.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game a year ago.
From carrying a boxing bag to pulling in a car with a rope, Young’s workout is insane. That workout only continues with tire flips and your average “pushing a pick up truck down the road” routine.
Take a look at the video, and if you didn’t think Young was a beast before, there’s no debating that now:
Want even more of a reason to think so?
He did the workout in 2 minutes and 46 seconds. You could give most people two years and 46 days and they still wouldn’t be able to do what Young’s workout.
Looking ahead to the 2012-13 season, Young appears set to once again help lead his Gators through SEC contention. The return of Kenny Boynton and Michael Rosario in the back court adds even more hype to this season, while forward Erik Murphy helps anchor things at the forward position alongside Young.
Florida tips off the season on Nov. 9 in Jacksonville, as they prepare to take on Georgetown aboard the USS Bataan.
