2013 Hoophall Classic Schedule Announced
For the last 11 years, the Hoophall Classic has been showcasing the top high school basketball talent in the country. This years event, which marks the 12th anniversary of the Classic, will prove no different
The tournament, which will be held at Springfield College on January 17-21, will feature 49 teams from high schools around the country.
The tournament is highlighted by the top 2 players in the class of 2013, Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker. Highly recruited stars Noah Vonleh, Aaron Gordon, Julius Randle, and Jahlil Okafor will also be in attendance with their respective schools.
Their are many intriguing match ups that will be very interesting to watch during the tournament including a matchup between Vonleh and Newhampton (NH) against Wiggins and Huntington Prep. On the final day of the tournament, Gordon and Randle, who are both being recruited by Kentucky, will meet when Archbishop Mitty (CA) takes on Prestenwood Christian (TX).
Other teams of note that will be in attendance are St.Anthony’s (NJ), DeMatha Catholic, and NBA Star Kevin Durant‘s alma matter Montrose Christian (Md.)
This tournament is a great way to see the top high school talent go against teams of their caliber. Obviously, this tournament is a must-see for recruiters who are interested in the involved players. Seeing how a star player interacts with his teammates and plays against other stop talent is a very important aspect to consider when recruiting players.
While many of these players will be committed by the time of the tournament, their are still many young players who can take advantage of this spotlight in order to get on the map of top-tier schools.
