Arizona State Guard Calaen Robinson to Sit Out 2012-2013 Season

Arizona State will be without freshmen Calaen Robinson for the entire season.  coach Herb Sendek announced on Saturday night that Robinson has decided to sit out the 2012-13 season.

Robinson decided he would sit out the season as he is dealing with an unknown “off the court matter”.  Robinson has not practiced with the team at all the whole off season and even if he was to play this year, he wouldn’t be prepared.

Robinson is only 1 of 3 recruits who came in this year for the Sun Devils.  A 6’1” left-handed guard from Arizona who turned down an offer from St. Mary’s (Ca).

The Sun Devils were chosen to finish in the bottom 2 of the Pac-12 conference this year.  Losing a talented freshmen guard like Robinson, certainly won’t help the Sun Devils be a surprise team this year.

The Sun Devils almost lost another freshmen this year in Jahii Carson. Carson is an extremely talented player and was initially ruled ineligible by the NCAA last year and was ruled eligible for this season.

With the addition of Carson, even without Robinson in the line up Arizona State was able to defeat Central Arkansas by 15 points in their first game of the season.

Carson turned out to be a big addition for the Sun Devils as he had 15 points and 5 assists for the Sun Devils.

For the Sun Devils to prove everyone wrong and have a good season is going to be very difficult.  They are going to need every piece of talent possible and without Robinson they are going to be missing some talent.
