UMass Minutemen: Forward Cady Lalanne Arrested and Suspended
On Monday, news came out of Amherst, Massachusetts that UMass forward/center Cady Lalanne was suspended following an arrest that involved disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting a police officer making a lawful arrest. The Daily New Hampshire Gazette reported that Lalanne was arrested after an on-campus event.
Lalanne was suspended indefinitely and missed the game against Northeastern. The Minutemen would go on and defeat Northeastern tonight 72-66. Minutemen head coach Derek Kellogg said in a statement that “Cady Lalanne is going to be suspended to a violation of athletic department policy for his conduct at an on-campus function Saturday night.”
Kellogg continued to say “Right now it’s indefinitely. He will not be making the trip to Boston tonight and playing right now… We’ll continue to monitor the situation and make a decision over the next few days or so.”
Cady Lalanne is currently a sophomore at UMass and is averaging 4.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Unfortunately this is not Lalanne’s first time in trouble this season. He was suspended for the Minutemen’s first exhibition game due to a violation of team rules.
Lalanne has to be careful because if he gets into anymore trouble this season he might not be on the team going on forward.
