Duke Blue Devils Finally Get a Break
After facing tough opponent after tough opponent, the Duke Blue Devils will finally get a break in their schedule, that is until conference play begins.
Duke has faced three top five teams (Ohio State, Kentucky, Louisville) this year and has managed to win every game. Not to mention, the Blue Devils have also played a great Temple, VCU and Minnesota team. It is pretty impressive that this team has gotten off to such a hot start given the fact that their schedule has been absolutely brutal.
Well, Duke can finally rest at ease because the Cornell Big Red are not the Buckeyes. Not even by a long shot. However, Duke should obviously not take its next few opponents lightly because upsets happen in college basketball all of the time.
At the moment, this team will not have to play a ranked opponent until Jan. 12. That will be a matchup between the two favorites to win the ACC. North Carolina State has not gotten off to the start that most people expected it to, but their two losses this season came to two very good teams in the Michigan Wolverines and Oklahoma State Cowboys. Both of those teams are currently ranked in the top 25.
Duke fans should feel pretty good about their team, since the Blue Devils are the No. 2 team in the nation and have had the most impressive wins out of any team in the country this season. The way that Duke is playing, it could very easily run the tables, considering the fact that it has gotten most of its tough games out of the way and since the ACC is not as good as it has been in recent years.
