Rafael Suanes-USA TODAY Sports

After a pretty quiet week in the Colonial Athletic Association last week, there will be plenty of high-quality CAA men’s basketball games over the next few days now that finals are over.

This week, some CAA teams will be making one of several appearances on national television this season. One of those teams are the George Mason Patriots.

Mason (6-4) will face in-sate rival Richmond (9-3) on Saturday. The Spiders, of the Atlantic 10, have been beating up on CAA teams thus far this season. Richmond has already beaten UNCW, William & Mary, Old Dominion and James Madison in 2012-2013, by an average winning margin of 19.8 points per game.

This will undoubtedly be a very competitive match-up. Also on Saturday, the Old Dominion Monarchs (1-10) will play Virginia (8-2) in the first-ever Governor’s Holiday Hoops Classic at the Richmond Coliseum. The Cavaliers have been very successful in the ACC thus far this season and should prove to be a very tough opponent for the struggling Monarchs. Both games will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network.

Next, NBCSN will nationally televise the Drexel’s contest against defending Davidson on Saturday night, as well. The Dragons (3-7) will face a tough Wildcats (6-4) team that won the Southern Conference last season and look to again contend for the league championship this spring. The struggling Hofstra Pride (3-8) will play against Tulane (7-3) in the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, too.

Now, let’s wait to see how well these CAA teams can compete in this great matchups.
