The Best Offense in the SEC
The best offense in the SEC is debatable. The SEC is a high scoring league. The Ole Miss Rebels, the LSU Tigers, the Kentucky Wildcats, the South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Alabama Crimson Tide all have at least three players averaging double digit scoring a game. However two teams standout: The Missouri Tigers and the Florida Gators.
The Missouri Tigers have only lost to the No. 2 Louisville Cardinals and even in that game scored at least sixty points. Phil Pressey is one of the top offensive players in the country. The outstanding Tigers offense has a lot to do with the play of their Forwards. Laurence Bowers is a monster down-low, not to mention the transfer from UConn Alex Oriakhi who is also dominating. The return of Jabari Brown to the Missouri line-up has added another offensive threat to the Tigers game. The Tigers continue to gain offensive momentum in their first season in the SEC
The Florida Gators have one of the best duos in college basketball: Kenny Boynton and Patric Young. These two players dominate all the other players on the court, and, while attention is focused on stopping Young and Boynton, they can swing it out to Erik Murphy who is almost fifty percent from three point range. This team can score anywhere on the floor; a nightmare for defenses. The Florida offense is one of the most dangerous in the country.
The offensive minded Florida Gators and Missouri Tigers are the top teams in the SEC this far into the season. Who says offense doesn’t win championships?
