Wednesday night marked the first all-time meeting between Ball State and Norfolk State and a tightly-contested game came down to the final seconds, literally.

The Cardinals won the game off a defensive breakdown which resulted in your always-rare walk-off dunk.

Trailing by one point in the final seconds, Ball State guard Jesse Berry, who led the way with 21 points offensively in the victory, dribbled the length of the court and dished it off to Majok Majok.

Majok finished with the authority, beating the buzzer and giving the Cardinals their sixth victory of the season in the process. Norfolk State, who is nothing new to excitement themselves after shocking Missouri in the NCAA Tournament a season ago, has now dropped to 6-10 on the season, although MEAC play holds all the importance to their postseason potential.

Majok, whose name is one of the more unique aspects of the Ball State roster, is a junior and has been one of the brighter stars for the Cardinals this season. The 6-foot-8 forward scored seven points and grabbed eight rebounds in Wednesday night’s victory, but none were more important than his ferocious slam to end it.

On the season, Majok is averaging a double-double, totaling 11.2 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.

The Cardinals will resume action against Eastern Michigan next Wednesday in a game that will mark their first conference test of the season.
