Time to Welcome Back North Carolina State Following Win Over Duke
The North Carolina State Wolfpack entered the 2012-13 college basketball season as the favorites in the ACC. Not to mention, the No. 6 ranking in the nation. However, that all came crushing down when the Wolfpack lost two out of its first six games. That is at least what most people thought, but then NC State pulled off the improbable by beating the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils. Welcome back North Carolina State.
Okay, let me start off by saying that there is no reason why NC State should have been written off in the first place. The Wolfpack may have lost two games really quick to start off the season, but those losses came against a very good Oklahoma State Cowboys team and to the Michigan Wolverines, who are the No. 2 team in the nation and the only undefeated team left in college basketball.
However, it took a win against Duke for people to realize that NC State is once again contenders in the ACC.
C.J. Leslie reminded the nation why he is so good, by going off for 25 points against Duke. Four other players on the team had 10 or more points in the game.
Before this huge victory, North Carolina State’s best win of the season came against the Connecticut Huskies. Well, the win against the Blue Devils will definitely help out the resume, along with getting the Wolfpack back in the talks for an ACC title.
This team has four proven leaders in Leslie, Lorenzo Brown, Richard Howell and Scott Wood. It also has two very talented freshmen in Rodney Purvis and T.J. Warren. All six of these players are averaging 10 or more points per game.
Now that North Carolina State has proved that it is still a very good team, please move the Wolfpack up in the rankings because after a win against the best team in the nation, it is evident that NC State is back.
