Ah yes, here we go.

The monumental match-up in the Missouri Valley Conference is ready to provide certain excitement on Saturday afternoon, as Creighton makes the trip to Wichita State.

The two big dogs in the conference has each become consistent threats out of the MVC in recent years and Saturday’s contest will once again add proof to their program’s potential and success.

At 17-1 overall and 6-0 within the conference, the Blue Jays are spearheaded by All-American candidate Doug McDermott. Wichita State on the other hand, is the home team this weekend and their 16-2 mark features only one blemish in conference play thus far (5-1). Cleanthony Early, a JUCO transfer for the Shockers, has helped head coach Gregg Marshall push this program back into the limelight this season despite their roster deductions from a season ago.

The key to victory for Wichita State on Saturday will obviously hinge on what can certainly be expected to be a raucous crowd. The home court advantage must be taken in stride, as the Shockers look to take control of the MVC with January hitting its latter half. Stopping McDermott has been a problem for each of Creighton’s opponents this season, but the challenge is once again at its forefront on Saturday.

Wichita State will need to find a way to limit the Blue Jays’ ninth-ranked offensive output if they hope to avoid their second loss in three games.

Tip-off from Charles Koch Arena is scheduled for 4:00pm (EST) on Saturday.
