After a tough skid in the opening two games of the ACC season, it appears that the North Carolina Tar Heels have turned the corner and are heading in the right direction. With having to earn hard fought victories against Florida State and Maryland, the Tar Heels appear to be overcoming the adversity they faced after starting the ACC season 0-2.
The talent on North Carolina is unquestionable and it’s never a good thing to sleep on a Roy Williams coached basketball team, but many had begun to question this UNC team a couple weeks ago.
Now however, it appears that they may have turned the corner, and are entering a stretch of winnable conference games. You start to wonder just how far this North Carolina team can go. With steady growth each game and being able to bite down in tough stretches, UNC is developing into a team who can peak here in the next month or so. If you’re looking for a measuring stick game as to the progress of this team, I believe you have to look no further than this Saturday’s match up with N.C. State in Raleigh.
Playing a very talented and well coached team on the road will show Williams and the rest of the country what UNC is made of. N.C. State has already knocked off a previously undefeated Duke team, and play with a ton of enthusiasm on their home floor. If UNC can go into Raleigh and play well, it will serve notice to the rest of the country that UNC is a force to be dealt with for each remaining game of the season.
