Sunday evening in the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Miami (Fl) and Florida State will square off in a match up that will have huge implications in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  Anytime this game is played, there are obvious in-state bragging rights at stake (mainly between their old, out shape alumni).  Also, with the Hurricanes being arguably the most surprising team in the country right now, there are many recruits who now have their eyes open to the possibility of playing in Miami.

For Head Coach Leonard Hamilton, he’s trying to improve to 4-2 on this season’s road record.  Throughout the course of Hamilton’s career at Florida State, whether the Seminoles have made the NCAA Tournament or not often has hinged on whether the ‘Noles have gotten conference wins on the road.  In recent years, he’s gotten his team to rise up on the road, and he’s benefited tremendously from that improvement.  Coming off of a buzzer beating victory over Clemson, the ‘Noles are looking to build on that momentum and get another key ACC victory.

For Miami, they simply have to protect their house.  They’ve been on an unbelievable run this season, and they are really finding a new and exciting style of play. They have uptempo guards that I’m really impressed with and they will be looking to establish the BankUnited Center as one of the toughest places to play in the conference.  This game will be an excellent measuring stick in the development of both programs, so keep your eyes on this game, as it should catapult the winner into great success this season.
