Once down 16 points in the first half the Bradley Braves come back to beat Illinois State Redbirds behind 27 points from Walt Lemon Jr.  At one point during the first half it looked as if the Redbirds were going to run away with a comfortable victory.  That was when they were getting the ball to Jackie Carmichael and not turning the ball over.  The Braves like to get steals from their half court defense and turn them into quick points, mainly because they aren’t very good in their half court offense.

Once the Redbirds allowed the Braves to get back into the game late in the first half, it seemed as if they weren’t able to get back on track or play the same way they started the game out.  Bradley was able to get Illinois State out of their comfort zone by making them play faster then what they want to, and also limited the touches for Carmichael in the second half.

Put those two things together, and mix in some shooting from the Braves, and that is how they were able to come all the way back and pick up a solid conference win.  With this win the Braves put themselves in fifth place in the Missouri Valley Conference and will keep them out of having to play on the first day of the conference tournament which would be huge for this team as they will have to make a run in that to get a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
