Who Has the Best Home Court Advantage in the Missouri Valley Conference?

Wichita State Fans

Jeff Curry-US Presswire

The toughest place to play in the Missouri Valley Conference? It has to be the Charles Koch Arena, home of the Wichita State Shockers.

I’m sure most fans would say that they have the best home court advantage or best fans, but if you turn on the TV and the game is at Wichita State, you will know why I believe they have the best home court advantage in the conference.  They have unique seating in which the fans are really close to the court and there is not much room around the court.

They always have a big student section in one of the corners, as well.  The Roundhouse, as they call it, seats a little over 10,000 fans and that isn’t the biggest in the conference, but it can be the loudest in the conference.  It has played a huge role in the Shockers reemergence as they provide a tough environment to play in for all opposing teams.  In fact, they are currently 12-0 on their home court this season.

Mid-majors need their fans more than the power conferences.  Sometimes they don’t have the same amount of talent, but if they can have a home court where the fans are loud and intimidating, then that can certainly help the program’s future success.  I think this is the case with the Shockers.

Wichita State has the talent though, with the fans and arena to back it up. That makes this arena the best environment in the Missouri Valley.
