Are the Indiana State Syrcamores Officially On The Bubble Yet?
Is it time for people to start considering the Indiana State Sycamores as an NCAA tournament team? I feel that they have done some good work this season to be considered at least a bubble team as of now. With their win on Tuesday night at Wichita State that brings them to three quality wins this year. They had previously won against Miami (FL) and Ole Miss.
Both those teams entered this week ranked in the top 25. Now I think that what they have done in the Missouri Valley regular season might not be enough for them to get in as they have had some bad losses to Southern Illinois and Illinois State. With their win over the Shockers though, they have certainly helped their chances.
Down the stretch and for the rest of the season for the Sycamores, I feel that they might have to run the table in the conference which includes beating Wichita State again and beating Creighton. They must at least make it to the championship game to the Valley tournament, as well. They can do that but it will be a tall task for a young team, but I think their junior point guard Jake Odum is a good player and with guys like Dawson Cummings and Manny Arop stepping up they look like they could make a run.
With only Wichita State and Creighton left on the schedule that present a challenge, it looks as if it could play out well because they play both of them at home. That could be a big boost to them as they look to make the NCAA Tournament.
