Can as many as three Missouri Valley teams make the NCAA tournament this year?

With Creighton and Wichita State almost locked unless they have a collapse, it looks like they will make it.  The big question is whether or not Indiana State makes it.  All three teams have had great seasons so far and have had many resume building victories.  For instance, the Blue Jays have victories against Wisconsin and Indiana State.  The Shockers have victories against Virginia Commonwealth, Iowa and Creighton and Indiana State has the most impressive non-conference record with victories against Ole Miss, Miami (FL), and Wichita State.

So it brings the question of do all three teams make the big dance.

According to Northern Iowa coach Ben Jacobson, they do.  The conference has done a great job at scheduling tough non conference games because they had to.  In order to make noise in post season they had to get some games that would challenge them.

According to Jacobson, he says that the league is good enough to deserve three at-large bids.  They shouldn’t punish these teams because they play in a mid-major conference.  There are a lot of good teams in the conference and they will have a couple losses because of that, but they have to look at the whole picture, which includes non-conference and strength of the league.

I believe that all three teams can make it and should make it if they can keep winning rest of the season.  That’s the key especially for the Sycamores.
