Duke Blue Devils Answer Bell Against North Carolina State Wolfpack

The Duke Blue Devils were a team on a mission Thursday night against the North Carolina State Wolfpack. Duke had lost to N.C. State just a few weeks ago and they weren’t going to let it happen again at home. The No. 4-ranked Blue Devils came out hot and scored a 98-85 victory. With how topsy-turvy college basketball has been this season, getting a win as a top-ranked team has been easier said than done.

It was going to be important for the Blue Devils to get big nights out of Mason Plumlee and Seth Curry, which they did during win number 20 for the season for Duke. We have reached a point where any team can win the NCAA Tournament, because there are no dominant teams this season who can just take charge and win every game out there.

However, with Plumlee and Curry, Duke is a team that could get hot and make some noise in the postseason. The Blue Devils have underachieved in the postseason during recent years, but maybe this is the year that changes.

The battle in the ACC this season appears to be a race for second place right now with the Miami Hurricanes still undefeated in conference play and Duke being the closest a full two games out. The Blue Devils will get a chance at the Hurricanes on March 2 at home and must take advantage of that opportunity to respond after being drilled by 27 on the road last time those two teams played. If Duke can do it, it will be up to Plumlee and Curry.
